Hi all, not been /m much the last 2 months or so, mainly due to me changing cars. I now have a Skoda Octavia and its taken me a while to get the antenna mounted due to weather.

Derek, G3WHK kindly offered to help fix the mount onto the car and showed me a better way of running the feeder and earthing.
Firstly we had to use my smaller mount, however I only use a discreet dual band whip when on the move so no issue there. I had covered the hatch in Ventureshield to help protect against scratches, I also had some braid to hand.
Once the mount was fixed we ran a braid from a bolt on the hatch to the antenna mount using a crimp connector. I have painted the fixings and bolt again to make it look neat.
We ran an earth from a seat fixing to the body of the radio plus put around 5 or 6 turns on the feeder.
No issues on the SWR, better on 6M in fact and like nothing on 2M and 70cms. HF needs tweaking but useable via ATU. When its warmer I need to visit the park and tune them up.
